Evie Markes was a character on Manifest. She debuts, with her only appearance, in the third episode of the first season and is portrayed by co-star Simoné Elizabeth Bart.

Biography[]

Before Flight 828[]

Evie is the best friend of Michaela and Lourdes. Together the three are known as the Three Amigas. One day in sixth grade a boy named Bobby Tufford calls tries to write slut on her locker after she comes to school in heels, she catches him and refuses to rat him out to Mrs. Springs and she waits for him outside of school to beat him up and call him a "bitch-monkey".("S.N.A.F.U.")

Many years later as an adult Evie and Michaela go to a bar where she becomes very drunk and Michaela slightly intoxicated, Michaela is forced to drive them home which leads them to get in a car crash, killing Evie. Evie's parents Glen and Beverly come to blame Michaela for the accident, as does she, before her disappearance on Flight 828. Evie's heart comes to be donated to a boy named Carlos who keeps her picture as a reminder of what happened to him.("Turbulence")

During Flight 828[]

At some point Beverly develops dementia and she repeatedly forgets that Evie had died, while at first Glen has to remind her eventually he lies about where Evie to not make Beverly mourn her over and over again.("Turbulence", "S.N.A.F.U.")

After Flight 828[]

One day after her return Michaela has a meal with Lourdes and Jared Vasquez where they fondly reminisce over the good times that they had with Evie. Michaela goes and visits Glen and Beverly where she discovers the dementia. She then has a calling where she hears Evie's heart. After helping Carlos get over the death of his uncle she learns about how Evie's heart is now his and finally deals with Evie's death. ("Turbulence", "S.N.A.F.U.")
